Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family when she was the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After after her college graduation, she was a prominent right-wing syndicated reporter. In the years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. The fame of Arianna has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna became famous in 2003 after she decided to stand as an independent candidate in the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Alongside that, she was also the leader of an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. Forbes listed her as the most influential woman in media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as at 12th place on their list. The Guardian also included her to the list of top 100 media outlets in the year 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her head of its media division, which also included other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was very close with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her life. She was a leader even in her early years. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's college debating societies where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an advanced degree in Economics. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. Her first novel was written. books and enlisting his assistance in editing.
