Allison Chinchar works as a forecaster of weather for CNN as well as HLN. She has a presence in CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. She was a local station meteorologist on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga prior to becoming a part of CNN. She was a meteorologist for hurricanes and blizzards and also flooding, wildfires. She was honored with an Emmy for the coverage she provided of Hurricane Dorian, which hit the Bahamas in 2019. Her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, during which more than 350 tornadoes were recorded in the Southeastern United States over a time of just four days, with 200 of them that occurred on the 27th of April was nominated as well to win an Emmy. She's covered weather patterns, climate change and earthquakes and volcanoes due to her expertise in environmental science. Chinchar received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a part of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society as well as the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
