Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ "goUmez"/s@'LEE-n@ born on July 22, 1992) is an American actor, singer and producer. Gomez started her acting career in 2002 on the children's TV series Barney & Friends. When she was a teenager Gomez gained fame for her performance as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Apart from her television show, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) as well as voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez, through July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). She also appears in the Hulu comedy series, a mystery that airs on Hulu called Only Murders in the Building (21-21-222). Gomez has received praise from critics for the show as well as nominations for the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez has released three albums in her former band Selena Gomez & the Scene and the Scene. All three albums made it into the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Goes Down (2011). Stars Dance (2013) was her first solo album. Billboard 200, and its leading single "Come and Get It" reached the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album Revival (2015) was released at the top of the charts in the US and was certified platinum by the RIAA and was followed by three US top-ten entries: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) is Gomez's third studio album, was her third consecutive number 1 in the US. The first single, "Lose You, to Love Me" is also her first number one hit in the US. In 2021 she released the EP in Spanish Revelacion in which she was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been honored with numerous accolades, such as being named the Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2017. In 2017, she also broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people in the world in 2020. She is a well-known social media star and is the most-followed musician and actress on Instagram.
